I pet for plenty of chicken for more than 10 years. My chicken isJapanese Bantam breed.
I thinks chicken is very recommended as a pets.
Firstly Chicken is smart actually. They know how to get back home ontime, my chicken is running free in my backyard and they always come home before 7pm, By the way I mean they will actually jump inside they chicken house and sit on there and wait you to close the door.
In case you don’t know about that chicken will alert you when they feel danger is near them, Danger in the meaning of when they see stranger try catch them, cat or dog nearby them who trying eat them.
Chicken Can eat almost everything that human can eat , they eat stone to digest, you need not to worried if you feed something wrong for the chicken they will died like dog and cat they can;t eat chocolate. I feed my chicken everything I eat, like yogurt , ice cream, rice, even eggs, but corn and noodles are their favorite food.
Your chicken will wake you up in the morning, even you let them stay outside, cock will crow every morning and it is same timing. That why I said chicken know timing.
Hens lay eggs toos, you might want some fresh eggs to eat everyday on that period your chicken lays too much eggs and you don;t need that much of chick you can just eat them.
You can pet chicken like all the others pets, when my chicken need pets, it will jump up to my thigh when I watch TV and sit on my thigh and i will pet it gently
You can actually play with chicken , I often clips my pin on the tail of my chicken that he will be annoy and i see him flip off. Sometime if i make it angry he will walk away, but when you holding food it will come nearby and watch at you.
Feather are waterproof and you chicken won’t stink and it will stay clean as always.
I really enjoy pets a chicken, you learn more and discover more benefit if you stop eating chicken and start pets one.
